Acceptable Use Policy
Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out what is and is not allowed when using RingSafe services, including ringsafe.in, RingSafe Academy, free tools, the community forum, and any other digital property operated by Ring Safe Cybersecurity (“RingSafe”, “we”). By using these services you agree to comply with this AUP.
1. Permitted use
You may use RingSafe services to:
- Learn cybersecurity, take courses, complete quizzes, and earn certificates of completion.
- Use our free tools (HTTP Header Analyzer, JWT Decoder, Hash Generator, etc.) to test your own systems or systems you have explicit written authorization to test.
- Participate in community discussions in a respectful, on-topic manner.
- Engage RingSafe for legitimate consulting, VAPT, or compliance services.
- Reference our public content (blog posts, academy modules) with proper attribution.
2. Prohibited use
You must not use RingSafe services to:
a. Illegal or harmful activity
- Conduct unauthorized scanning, probing, or attacks against systems you do not own or do not have written authorization to test.
- Use any technique taught in our academy to attack production systems without explicit authorization. Our content is for defensive understanding and authorized testing only.
- Engage in any activity prohibited under the Information Technology Act 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, or applicable Indian or international law.
- Distribute malware, ransomware, exploit kits, or stolen credentials.
- Phish, social engineer, or impersonate RingSafe staff or other users.
b. Account abuse
- Share your RingSafe Academy account credentials. Each account is for a single named individual.
- Bypass tier gating, certificate verification, or paywalls.
- Submit false information during signup or grievance escalations.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to download course content, scrape modules, or generate fake quiz completions.
c. Content abuse
- Republish, mirror, or resell RingSafe academy content without written permission.
- Remove copyright notices, watermarks, or attribution from our materials.
- Use RingSafe trademarks, name, or branding to imply affiliation without permission.
- Post copyrighted material you do not own in the community forum or in support channels.
d. Infrastructure abuse
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, WAF rules, or authentication on ringsafe.in.
- Run denial-of-service or amplification attacks against our infrastructure.
- Probe for vulnerabilities outside the scope of an authorized engagement (see “Reporting vulnerabilities” below).
- Send unsolicited bulk communications using our forms or APIs.
e. Harassment and harmful speech
- Harass, threaten, dox, or stalk other users, RingSafe staff, or third parties.
- Post discriminatory content based on caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Share sexually explicit, graphic, or otherwise inappropriate content in any RingSafe channel.
3. Tools usage policy
Our free security tools (header analyzer, JWT decoder, hash generator, password strength checker, etc.) are provided for educational and self-testing purposes only. Using them against domains or systems you do not own without authorization is your sole responsibility and may violate computer-misuse laws in your jurisdiction. RingSafe logs usage for abuse detection and rate-limits aggressive use.
4. Reporting vulnerabilities
If you discover a security vulnerability in RingSafe infrastructure, please report it responsibly to [email protected] or via our security.txt. We commit to:
- Acknowledging your report within 72 hours.
- Working with you on a responsible disclosure timeline (typically 90 days).
- Crediting you publicly (with permission) once the issue is resolved.
We will not pursue legal action against good-faith researchers who follow our responsible disclosure guidelines. Aggressive testing without prior contact is a violation of this AUP.
5. Enforcement
RingSafe reserves the right to:
- Investigate suspected violations using server logs, account history, and other available data.
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP, with or without prior notice depending on severity.
- Refuse refunds for accounts terminated due to AUP violations.
- Cooperate with law enforcement when legally compelled or when activity threatens public safety.
6. Reporting violations
If you observe activity that violates this AUP — harassment in the community, content piracy, abuse of our tools, etc. — report it to [email protected] with the subject line “AUP Violation”. We aim to respond within 7 business days.
7. Updates
This AUP may be updated when our services, threat landscape, or applicable law evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the page header for at least 30 days before taking effect. The current version is always at ringsafe.in/acceptable-use.
