01Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ringsafe.in, the RingSafe Academy, and all products and services offered by RingSafe ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the site, creating an account, purchasing any service, or using the academy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a subscription, or engage our consulting services. By using RingSafe, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are accessing the service as a representative of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

RingSafe is intended for use by cybersecurity professionals, students, IT decision-makers, and organisations seeking security guidance. The content includes technical material that may include offensive-security techniques discussed in a defensive, educational context — see our Acceptable Use Policy.

03Your account

3.1 Sign-up

Accounts are created via Google OAuth. We collect only your Google-verified name, email, profile picture, and Google user ID. See our Privacy Policy.

3.2 Account responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account used to sign in. Any action taken through an authenticated session is presumed to be authorised by you. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

3.3 Account termination by us

We may delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, particularly the Acceptable Use Policy, IT Act, or other reasonable rules — at our sole reasonable discretion.

04Subscriptions & pricing

4.1 Tiers

• Free tier — access to Beginner / Foundational modules, free security tools, community forum, DPDP Self-Assessment. No payment required.
• Basic tier — ₹499 / month. Adds access to all Intermediate modules. 30-day rolling access from activation.
• Pro tier — ₹4,999 / year. Adds access to all Advanced and Extreme modules, plus all Basic-tier content. Grants 365-day access from activation.

4.2 Tax

All prices are inclusive of 18% GST as of the "Last updated" date. We will issue a GST invoice for paid subscriptions. Prices may change; changes apply only to new purchases, not to already-activated subscriptions.

4.3 Equity tier

Where offered, an equity tier (₹2,999 / year or local equivalent) grants the same access as Pro tier with eligibility verified by us. Eligibility criteria are published separately and may change.

05Payments & renewals

Payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateway. RingSafe does not store any card or bank credentials. Upon successful payment, your subscription is activated within 24 hours (subject to manual verification during beta; automation is being worked toward).

Renewals. Current pricing is one-time-per-billing-period (no auto-renewal). Your tier automatically downgrades to Free at expiry unless you repurchase. All progress, quiz scores, and completed modules are preserved across tier changes.

06Refunds

• 7-day refund window — request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have completed less than 20% of paid content.
• Refunds requested after the 7-day window are declined except in cases of service unavailability or technical inability to access the purchased content.
• Refunds are processed to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to reflect.
• Request refunds at [email protected] with subject "Refund Request" and your payment reference ID.

07Content & intellectual property

7.1 Our content

All academy content — modules, quizzes, written material, diagrams, code samples, design, logos, and assets — is owned by RingSafe and protected by Indian and international copyright law.

7.2 What you can do

With an active subscription, you may:

• Access and read module content for personal learning.
• Take quizzes and track your personal progress.
• Reference short excerpts (under 200 words) with attribution to RingSafe in your own writing.

7.3 What you cannot do

You may not, without prior written permission:

• Republish, redistribute, or resell RingSafe content in any form.
• Share account credentials, allowing others to access paid content without their own subscription.
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content.
• Incorporate our content into competing paid educational offerings.
• Use our content to train AI/ML models without explicit written permission.

Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.

7.4 Your contributions

When you post in the community forum, submit a quiz answer, or provide feedback, you grant RingSafe a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and moderate your contribution on the site. You retain ownership.

08Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service to commit illegal activity under Indian law or the law of your jurisdiction.
• Apply offensive-security techniques against any system you do not own or have explicit written permission to test.
• Attack, probe, scan, or attempt to disrupt RingSafe infrastructure or any other user's account.
• Upload malware, post phishing content, or distribute illegal material.
• Impersonate other people, organisations, or RingSafe staff.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users in the community.
• Use the service in violation of CERT-In direction (April 2022) or other Indian cyber regulations.

See the full Acceptable Use Policy for details. Violations may result in immediate suspension, account termination, and (where applicable) reporting to law enforcement.

09Consulting services

Consulting engagements (VAPT, cloud audit, DPDP advisory, incident response) are governed by separate Statements of Work (SOW) signed for each engagement. The SOW takes precedence over these Terms in case of conflict on engagement-specific matters.

Standard SOW clauses include scope, deliverables, timeline, fees, confidentiality, IP ownership, indemnity, and limitation of liability. We will provide a draft SOW for any engagement before any work begins.

10Disclaimer of warranties

The service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — to the fullest extent permitted by Indian law. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Content reflects the most current applicable law or standard at the time of your reading.
• Following our content guarantees compliance, security outcomes, or audit pass.
• Defects will be corrected on any specific timeline.

You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of our content for your specific situation and for obtaining qualified professional advice (legal, accounting, security) where required.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, in no event shall RingSafe, its founder, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• Loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, data, or goodwill.
• Service interruptions, security incidents originating outside our infrastructure, or third-party service failures.
• Decisions you make in reliance on our educational content, including compliance, security architecture, or vendor selection decisions.

Our aggregate maximum liability for all claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the lesser of:

• The fees you have actually paid to RingSafe in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
• ₹50,000 (Indian Rupees fifty thousand).

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory of the claim (contract, tort, statute) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RingSafe, its founder, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claim, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
• Your use of the service in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
• Your offensive-security activities against systems you do not own or have permission to test.
• Content you post, upload, or transmit through the service.
• Your infringement of any third party's rights.

13Termination

By you. You may terminate your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete your personal data subject to the retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms (particularly Acceptable Use), violate the law, or pose a risk to the service or other users. We may terminate the service entirely on 60 days' notice — in which case active subscriptions will be refunded pro-rata.

14Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act 2000, the Indian Contract Act 1872, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India. Before initiating litigation, the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by direct communication for at least 30 days.

15Changes to these Terms

We update these Terms whenever the service or applicable law materially changes. The latest version is always at ringsafe.in/terms. Material changes will be flagged in the page header for at least 30 days. Continued use of the service after such notice constitutes acceptance.

If you do not agree to a change, you may terminate your account and request a pro-rata refund of any unused subscription period.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RingSafe regarding your use of the service. Engagement-specific SOWs override only on engagement-specific matters.
